Microsoft include windows movie maker as a part of OS windows. The first version came along with Windows ME, that later stated as a bad application. Then there small change in 1.1 version for windows XP, not long came along version 2.0 in year 2002. Then the version 2.5 along with XP Media Centre Edition. And up to now when Windows Vista show up with Movie Maker version 6.
You might not want to this experience, When movie maker doesn’t work in vista if it can detect your graphic card can’t run Vista Aero interface. Usually that thing happen to a laptop with old intel grahic. When you only happen to have old laptop then the only thing you could get is Move maker 2.6 which you can find in Microsoft.
If your laptop is using Vista Home Premium or Ultimate Edition, you will get to use the full HD version. The layout is simple with view choices that show storyboard or timeline. You can exactly pint point the exact start and end of a move clip. For this job, there are option over 60 choices of transition and 50 effect you can use.
The feature that we think great from this are the ability to preview HD content in full screen. While the main draw back from this is on the preference format that only familiar by Microsoft. So there can be only AVI,MPEG, and MPV2. The extra only a format HD that used by Microsoft to catch TV in windows media centre. Which is DVR-MS.
Beside it’s weakness, the sure thing is that this application is a nice early introduction to the video editing world.
